All the characters and real and all the incidences took place. The Names of the characters have not been changed in the hope this book will make all of them rich and famous and in that order. This is another cheap shot at that.
Have you been here before. Anoop asks Balu when sitting down for lunch on Thursday afternoonish. Balu gives his usual chuckle, one never knowz if that is a yes or a no.
Balu is pre-decided on chicken stroganoff . Anoop settles for 2 Mutton Puffs. Tells Balu about the availability of Mutton Pups in bangalore. Something in the conversation triggers of a talk on light and how it would be a great time to shoot.
"Fucker ask, I have my camera in the bag." just before a bite of mutton puff goes into Anoop's gut. One of the few times the mutton puff tasted as desired and mental note made. Chicken Stroganoff is going to take a while. Balu takes a bite of the other Mutton Puff on my plate. Joey does not share food.
A huge man jumps out of the car, runs towards the table says hi to balu, balu introduces anoop to the man. Who quickly excuses himself because he has to rush.
Time passes as Balu talks about another technology that is happening and how that would be the awesome and cool to have it.
Yet another man drops into the table to talk to balu, Read awesome review about your film, how is it doing asks balu to the man who has acted in a couple of famous hindi movies. The actor informs balu the film would never be a great success, they all knew it from the start. And moves on.
Balu's stroganoff has arrived and so has another plate of mutton puffs. Bill Paid. No conversation can ever happen when there is food and you are hungry.
Take an Auto and head towards Balu's house. And suddenly Balu has a spark and says "Come lets go" to anoop.
Find it amazing how balu can just sit into an Auto and tell him Aage thak.
Where is the camera, asks balu as the Auto is nearing his house and stopped. The last thing balu hears before getting off the auto "In the top part" from anoop while thinking Oh! so we are going someplace.
As Time ticks away the auto driver has gotten off to stand outside the auto with Anoop who had to step out to let Balu go.
The driver enquires if the ride would be going ahead. Not too pleased to hear it would be.
Balu comes in and the driver mildly protests about not being clear how far the fare would be. Balu tells him to head to the boat crossing. The driver is the last one in almost wanting to have a 2nd conversation and to refuse. Balu does not offer any and we head towards the crossing.
Across my friend is Madh Island, Where I used to stay. Balu says as he walks towards a canal of water where there is a large Jetty making the crossing.
We have to wait as the Jetty which would take us across has just left.
Lets Go
Ya you got to stand in line informs Balu as they stand stand behind the last person in the queue.
Anoop Gets a call on his phone. A very short conversation and he says" Hate it when people can't keep up to their time". Hahahahah Balu launghs while saying " Why has she left office" . Ya, she was supposed to work until eight". Haha hahahah they both laugh out loud.
Our line has started to move with the arrival of the jetty .
2 rupees each to cross over, and itz run by a Lady who will Yell at you if you don't get off the boat tells Balu to a query from anoop if they were just going
to go across and return in the same boat.
Reaching the other side, and Balu wants to hang around. Before exiting the landing ramp.
Two of them are taking in the site. When Balu jokingly hints at going back in the boat without paying the toll.
Anoop is clear he wants to pay the toll and also pay the return toll.
"Don't want to be busted for these petty shit, getting busted on for not paying a 2 rs toll and then them wanting to just check my records…. A lot of stuff will come out. So no, dude thatz a lot of stuff which rather not come out ever."
Fucker whatz there…… hahaha what is there, how bad is it. Says balu responding to anoop who is walking towards the toll booth to pay.
We walk out of the harbor, balu wants to have some tea.
This is where I Used to come have tea and then take a walk home when I used to stay here. Says balu reminiscing his days living in Mud Island.
He also says he walked for a Kilometer to his house.
It's getting dark and balu announces " lets go my friend"
The beggar does not make any effort to ask for alms.
Says anoop to balu to which balu in matter of fact voice says "he's got his regulars guys who pay him".
He would have made a bad undercover beggar.
Except for his crippled leg he looked in the pink of his health and did not seem desperate to worry about his next meal. God bless him.
They cross the river back. With the tickets brought earlier
"A koli festival is celebrated here, every year wherein there are multiple fires dishing out awesome seafood dishes with beer. You need to figure out your deal and get to the desired Kitchen's table and then feast on the offering. Wonder why they don't do this as a regular feature.
You know actually no place do they even serve the same dishes. Strange" . Almost as a guide giving out extra information. But this was balu's way of telling good food is served here
We Walked back through lanes which looked like the exact one we just passed. Stopping at a Bakery to satisfy Balu's sweet tooth.
We finally reached the house, and like it was a tradition sat down to roll another one.
It was time for both of us to return to our own worlds
